Cashman Stays Home, Boone in Arizona — Yankees Leadership Nowhere Near Vegas

Let’s talk about Brian Cashman. The guy who’s supposed to be our fearless leader, the one orchestrating the grand plan. Where is he right now? Not in Las Vegas for the GM Meetings, that’s for sure. Rumor has it he’s dialing in from home. But isn’t this the guy who should be in the thick of it, making deals, shaking hands, and, you know, actually showing up? No representation at the big event? That’s like skipping the first day of school.

And Aaron Boone? He’s off visiting family in Arizona. Nice, right? But maybe it’s time someone told him that family can wait. The Yankees need him right here, right now. We’re already behind on fixing what’s clearly broken. The offseason doesn’t wait for anyone—not even the Yankees.

We made moves last year, sure. Max Fried, Cody Bellinger, Devin Williams. But what did it get us? Another early exit. Bellinger and Williams are free agents now, and we’re facing more injury woes for 2026. Anthony Volpe, our supposed shortstop savior, is starting next season in the minors. Come on. How did we get here?

The excuses are running thin, folks. A week in Vegas sounds like a small price to pay to start shaping next season. But here we are with no one on the ground. It’s almost laughable if it weren’t so frustrating.
