Mike Ford is playing 1B today for the 2nd straight game to start the spring. THIS IS A CLEAR SIGN PEOPLE!

The clear sign of course being he’s going to break Yankees camp with the big league club! He’s the early leader for the 1B job as well. The Yankees love him this much.

Take a look at today’s roster to see for yourself:

Batting 6th today after batting 4th yesterday. Yankees clearly giving him every chance this spring.

The Yankees have 4 1B in camp in Voit, Ford, Gittens, ETC and thus no need to play him at 1B back to back days this early. Why have they? Because Big Mike Ford has arrived to stay in the Bronx.

How does he project over a full season? To bat .284 with 44 HR’s and 129 RBI’s. That is of course if literally everything goes perfect and factors in stadium effect stat boosts. His averages of his projections over 1000 simulations done is: .280 BA 32 HR’s 108 RBI’s. That’s great output from a young LH bopper.

I have always known he’d break camp with the Yankees. I just projected him at DH with some 1B. However it now seems as if Boone is setting up a platoon between Ford and Voit.

How will the lineup look with Ford in it? Something like this which also allows Voit to play:

  2. RF Aaron Judge
  3. SS Gleyber Torres
  4. 1B/DH Mike Ford
  5. LF Giancarlo Stanton
  6. C Gary Sanchez
  7. CF Mike Tauchman
  8. 1B/DH Luke Voit
  9. 3B Gio Urshella/3BMiguel Andujar

Boone certainly has flexibility and all kinds of bats to use and throw at different pitchers.

I can also see a rotation in which Andujar gets into LF with Stanton in RF when Judge needs a day off and etc. Boone has all kinds of weapons.

Get ready for more and more and more of Mike Ford in the Bronx and tons of Built Ford Tough HR’s. He’s going to break camp with the Yankees.
