Eight straight. Three more homers. Ten walks. And the Yankees just keep rolling.
This is starting to look less like a hot streak and more like a team finding its identity right in front of everybody.
The Yankees (18-9) beat the Astros 8-3 on Saturday night, stretched the winning streak to eight games, and once again did it with the same formula that has been carrying them lately: power, patience, and a bullpen that did not blink.
Houston got on the board first, so no, this was not one of those easy wire-to-wire games. Carlos Correa doubled in the first, Isaac Paredes brought him home, and the Astros had an early 1-0 lead.
Then the Yankees started chipping away.

Grisham And Caballero Bring The Power Early
Trent Grisham tied the game in the third with a solo shot to left. Not a cheap one. Not a lucky one. A real swing that changed the feel of the game.

Then José Caballero did it again in the fifth, launching a solo homer to left-center to give the Yankees a 2-1 lead.
And Caballero? He is becoming a problem.
He went 3-for-5, hit a homer, drove in a run, scored, and stole his 10th base of the season. Yes, he was caught stealing third twice, and that cannot happen. But the bat? The energy? The pressure he puts on the defense?
You take that every day.

Austin Wells Changed The Game
The biggest swing came in the seventh.
Austin Wells led off the inning with a home run to right, breaking the tie and giving the Yankees a 3-2 lead. That was the swing that opened the door.
After the game, Wells kept it simple. He said the pitcher made a good pitch, but his bat just got to it and the ball had enough to get out.
That is baseball sometimes. You do not need to make it complicated.
Wells also added an RBI single in the ninth and finished 2-for-3 with two walks, two RBIs, and a homer. For a hitter who has been trying to get going, that is the kind of night that can start something.

The Yankees Took Their Walks And Made Houston Pay
This is the part that matters.
The Yankees had 12 hits, but they also drew 10 walks.
That is not an accident. That is an approach.
Bellinger walked three times. Judge walked twice. Wells walked twice. Grisham walked twice. Jazz Chisholm walked with the bases loaded. Cody Bellinger walked with the bases loaded.
That is how you beat teams down without needing a homer every inning.
You make pitchers work. You pass the baton. You trust the next guy.
Wells said after the game the Yankees are comfortable taking walks because they believe they have “nine dangerous guys” in the lineup.
And honestly? He is right.
Ryan Weathers Gave Them What They Needed
Ryan Weathers was not perfect, but he was tough.
He went 5.1 innings, allowed six hits, two earned runs, struck out four, and did not walk a batter. Against that Astros lineup, you take that.
He got hurt by two big swings, including Correa’s homer in the sixth, but he kept the Yankees in position to win.
Then Fernando Cruz, Jacob Bird, Camilo Doval, and Tim Hill handled the rest.
Cruz came in during a real spot in the sixth and got two strikeouts. Bird threw a clean seventh. Doval worked around a walk in the eighth. Hill gave up a solo homer in the ninth, but the game was already under control.
This Team Is Rolling Now
Ben Rice stayed hot too, going 3-for-4 with a double, a sacrifice fly, and an RBI. He is now hitting .337 with a 1.216 OPS.
You cannot make this stuff up.
The Yankees got production from the top, the bottom, the middle, everywhere. Grisham homered. Caballero homered. Wells homered. Rice kept hitting. Bellinger and Chisholm forced in runs with patience. McMahon added two hits and an RBI.
This was not Aaron Judge carrying the team. Judge actually went 0-for-3 with two walks and two strikeouts.
And the Yankees still scored eight.
That is the difference right now.
They are not winning one way. They are winning in multiple ways.
Final Word
The Yankees are not just beating teams right now. They are wearing them down.
Eight straight wins.
Three home runs.
Ten walks.
Twelve hits.
Another win over Houston.
And now they have a chance to sweep another series.
That is how good teams move.
That is how serious teams start separating themselves.
And right now, the Yankees look serious.
