Yankees-Mets weather: Will it rain for Monday’s makeup game? Bronx, N.Y. forecast tonight (UPDATE)

The Yankees and Mets are scheduled to meet Monday, August 13, 2018 (8/13/18) at Yankee Stadium in Bronx, N.Y. They are making up a game which was rained out on July 22, 2018 (7/22/18). But the weather forecast for Monday could force a change in plans. The Yankees are going for their third straight win, but sit 9.5 games behind the first-place Boston Red Sox in the American League East.

The Yankees and Mets are scheduled to meet Monday at Yankee Stadium. They are making up a game which was rained out on July 22nd. But once again, the weather could be a factor. Here is Monday’s weather forecast for Bronx, N.Y. from the National Weather Service as of 6:18 p.m.:

Tonight: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 8pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 8pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. East wind 3 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

If the game is rained out Monday, making it up could prove difficult. The Yankees and Mets have just one common off-day the rest of the season – Thursday, Sept. 6 – but the Yankees will be in the middle of a nine-game road trip which takes them to Oakland, Seattle and Minneapolis.

Mailbag: Would Josh Donaldson to Yankees make sense?

Fans holding tickets for the original game on July 22nd can use them for tonight’s game. If you bought your ticket on the secondary market and can’t make the game, here are your options, per Yankees PR:

Ticket purchasers who cannot attend the rescheduled game on August 13th can either: (a) post the ticket(s) for resale on StubHub, on or before August 13th; or (b) exchange the ticket(s), only after the rescheduled baseball game has been played.

Tickets purchased from the Secondary Market presented for exchange will only receive a credit for the established price (i.e., the price fixed at the time of sale by the Yankees for admission to the Stadium and printed or endorsed on each ticket), regardless of the price paid for the ticket(s) on the Secondary Market. Complimentary tickets (COMP) or equivalent tickets purchased via the Secondary Market are not eligible for exchange.

With respect to tickets purchased through StubHub, please visit www.StubHub.com or call 866-STUBHUB (866-788-2482) for complete information about StubHub’s rainout policy.

Fans holding complimentary (COMP) tickets for (the original) game (on July 22nd) must use them for the rescheduled game. COMP tickets or equivalent tickets bear no cash value and do not have any additional benefits that may be offered to ticket(s) with a dollar value.
