Yankees-Red Sox weather forecast: Will rain delay Saturday game?

The New York Yankees were set to face the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park at 4 p.m. Saturday. But an ugly forecast was threatening first pitch.

BOSTON — The Yankees‘ weather woes might continue.

They have suffered a bunch of rainouts and weather delays this season. Could another one be in store Saturday?

It wasn’t looking good for the team’s scheduled 4:05 p.m. first pitch with the Red Sox at Fenway Park.

Here’s the forecast, via the National Weather Service, which has issued a flash flood watch until 5 p.m. and a hazardous weather outlook for the area.

Today

Showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Patchy fog after 1pm. High near 82. South wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.

Tonight

Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 8pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Partly cloudy, with a low around 71. Southwest wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
