MLB Home Run Derby 2018: Bracket, seeds, stats, format | Nationals’ Bryce Harper or Brewers’ Jesus Aguilar No. 1 seed?

Prior to the 2018 MLB All-Star Game, eight of baseball’s top sluggers will take their swings in the Home Run Derby, which starts at 8 p.m. on Monday, July 16, 2018 (7/16/18) at Nationals Park in Washington. Bryce Harper of the Washington Nationals headlines the field of eight players, which has several young stars set to take the stage for the first time. Jesus Aguilar of the Milwaukee Brewers enters as the surprise top seed after putting together a first-half offensive outburst. Rhys Hoskins of the Philadelphia Phillies, Kyle Schwarber of the Chicago Cubs and Max Muncy of the Los Angeles Dodgers represent some of the other young talent ready to swing away in the derby.

PROSPECT SPOTLIGHT
Tyler Nunez, a C from Lake Nona HS, is a 6'2 190lb athletic catcher who provides strength with the bat and glove. During BP, Tyler stuck with a middle of the field approach while staying on a line. He impacted the ball well with his compact and direct path, T90EV. He showed off his real athleticism behind the plate by posting a 2.04 pop time while staying around the bag on every throw. He is a good looking athletic uncommitted catcher to keep an eye on.
