NEW YORK Yankees general manager Brian Cashman didn’t rule out making a big deal this summer with the also-ran Mets, who may deal ace Jacob deGrom for multiple young players in an attempt to make a quick rebuild.

Here are Yankees post-game notes after Friday night’s 8-1 win provided by the club’s public relations department:

  • The Yankees are 1-0 to begin their six-game homestand and have won three of their last four games on the heels of a season-long three-game losing streak…are 27G over .500, 1G shy of their season high. 
  • At 53-26 (.671), Yankees own the majors’ best record. This marks the latest in a season they had sole possession of MLB’s best record since the end of play on 7/27/12 (.606, 60-39). 
  • Yankees are a major league-best 37-4 (.902) when scoring first this season. 
  • Yankees are 30-11 (.732) at Yankee Stadium, the majors’ best winning percentage and most home wins.
  • Yankees are 25-6 in the Bronx since April 21.
  • Yankees are 4-3 against the Red Sox this season, including a 3-1 mark at home.
  • Yankees are a major-league best 34-5 (.872) when their starting pitcher tosses at least six innings.
  • Yankees have won each of their last seven games vs. left-handed starting pitchers (since May 25) and are a major league-best 19-5 (.792) when they face a left-handed starter in 2018.
  • Left-hander CC Sabathia (7 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K) started and recorded the win. He’s 3-1 with a 2.54 ERA (49.2 IP, 14 ER) in his first nine home starts of 2018. He has allowed one-or-no runs in five of those nine starts. 
  • Since the start of 2017, Sabathia is 12-0 with a 2.47 ERA (105.2 IP, 29 ER) in 18 regular season starts following a Yankees loss. 
  • Sabathia Is 5-0 with a 1.95 ERA (37 IP, 8 ER) in six starts vs. the Red Sox since the beginning of 2017. He has allowed one-or-no runs in seven of his last 11 starts against the Red Sox (since 8/6/15). 
  • Third baseman Miguel Andujar (3 for 4, 3 RBI) hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning. He has recorded 39 extra-base hits in 74 career games, the third-most in Yankees history through 74 career games (Joe DiMaggio, 54, Bob Meusel, 46). 
  • Andujar has 12 homers this season. According to Elias, he is the fifth Yankees rookie to hit at least 10 home runs before the All-Star break, joining Aaron Judge (30 in 2017), Gleyber Torres (14 this season), Joe DiMaggio (11 in 1936) and Nick Johnson (11 in 2002).
  • First baseman Greg Bird (2 for 4) recorded his second career multi-homer game with solo home runs in the fourth and eighth innings. He also had two homers on Aug. 18, 2015 vs. Minnesota.
  • -Right fielder Aaron Judge (1 for 4) extended his on-base streak to 16 games with a two-run home run in the seventh. He’s batting .305 (18-for-59) with three homers and nine RBI during the stretch (since June 12). 
  • Judge is hitting .356 (52 for 146) with 12 doubles, 14 homers and 40 RBI in 41 home games.

Tyler Nunez, a C from Lake Nona HS, is a 6'2 190lb athletic catcher who provides strength with the bat and glove. During BP, Tyler stuck with a middle of the field approach while staying on a line. He impacted the ball well with his compact and direct path, T90EV. He showed off his real athleticism behind the plate by posting a 2.04 pop time while staying around the bag on every throw. He is a good looking athletic uncommitted catcher to keep an eye on.
