WATCH: Should the Yankees trade for Orioles’ Manny Machado?

Baltimore Orioles shortstop Manny Machado to the Yankees. A sport-changing blockbuster before the July 31, 2018 (7/31/18) non-waiver trade deadline makes sense under these two conditions.

Manny Machado rumors have taken over baseball.

With one of the best and (potentially) most impactful players ever to be auctioned off at the MLB trade deadline just weeks away from changing teams, every fan is glued to the latest news and rumors.

This week’s big talk: Machado to the Yankees. Yes, an offense on pace to shatter records is thinking about adding another big stick to an already ridiculous lineup.

Yanks with Machado?

But should the Yankees do it? Should a team in need of pitching deal assets for a huge bat, especially one that’s seemingly invested in not playing his best defensive position?

Watch the video above for my thoughts on Machado to the Yankees and the two conditions in which it makes sense.

PROSPECT SPOTLIGHT
Tyler Nunez, a C from Lake Nona HS, is a 6'2 190lb athletic catcher who provides strength with the bat and glove. During BP, Tyler stuck with a middle of the field approach while staying on a line. He impacted the ball well with his compact and direct path, T90EV. He showed off his real athleticism behind the plate by posting a 2.04 pop time while staying around the bag on every throw. He is a good looking athletic uncommitted catcher to keep an eye on.
