CHICAGO — Rightfully so, Yankees outfielder Clint Frazier wasn’t happy hearing he’d been ripped by Michael Kay for being on the disabled list last weekend when the Red Sox swept a four-game series at Fenway Park.

The Yankees’ television play-by-play man on YES, Kay called out Frazier and fellow injured outfielder Jacoby on his ESPN Radio show during a rant.

“When you’re playing Luke Voit and Shane Robinson in important games … shame on the Yankees for not having the depth,” Kay said on air. “Shame on guys like Jacoby Ellsbury for not getting healthy. Shame on Clint Frazier for not getting healthy. Again, you can’t make them get healthy, but if those guys are healthy it’s a completely different animal.”

Frazier responded by criticizing Kay on Twitter, which led to an apology and the two talking it out on the phone.

Before the Yankees-Chicago White Sox game on Tuesday night, manager Aaron Boone was asked about the incident.
