Mike Francesa has achieved radio immortality.

The WFAN host is a member of the National Radio Hall of Fame Class of 2018, it was announced Sunday. Francesa will be inducted at a Nov. 15 ceremony in Manhattan.

Even hard markers can’t argue Francesa deserves the honor. He is a two-time Marconi Award winner for major market personality and his WFAN show has dominated local sports talk radio for close to 30 years, whether it be the “Mike and the Mad Dog” program with Chris Russo or his current solo show, which made a controversial return to the air in May after a brief retirement following his much-ballyhooed farewell tour.

Francesa, already a member of the New York State Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame, also brought Mike Piazza to the Mets (with Russo) and single-handedly shut down the 2012 New York City Marathon after Hurricane Sandy devastated the region.

Francesa was selected by the Hall of Fame’s nominating committee. He had fallen short of induction in 2016. Other 2018 inductees include ESPN Radio’s Mike Golic and Mike Greenberg, conservative talk show host Mark Levin and New York voices Joan Hamburg and Jim Kerr.
