NEW YORK — Add one more to the list.

Jacoby Ellsbury, who’s out battling a right oblique strain, left hip soreness and plantar fasciitis in his right heel, was sent home from workouts because he was sick Monday, Yankees manager Aaron Boone.

Ellsbury, making $21 million this year, played in just six spring training games and has been on the disabled list all regular season. He’s rehabilitating at the team’s player development complex in Tampa.

“He is down in Tampa,” Boone said before Tuesday’s game against the Red Sox at Yankee Stadium. “He is doing baseball activities outside.

“He was actually under the weather (Monday) so he was sent home (Monday) but he’s fairly healthy and outside and running and hitting and doing all that so hopefully on his way to again to getting to a point where we can consider getting him into some games.

“But I would think that’s a little ways off. But he is doing all baseball stuff outside and running and hopefully on his way.”

Yankees-Red Sox: What you should know

The return of Ellsbury, 34, could be a problem for Boone.

If the Yankees’ outfield is healthy, Ellsbury would come back as the fifth option. He’d also have to take a roster spot. It’s unclear whom Ellsbury would replace.

The Yankees will deal with a similar situation when Brandon Drury returns from the disabled list. The third baseman has been dealing with blurred vision and headaches. He’s on a rehab assignment at Double-A Trenton, which is slated to end May 15. On Monday, general manager Brian Cashman said he expects Drury back “sooner than later.”
