World Series 2018: Red Sox's Alex Cora trolls Yankees at victory parade

The Boston Red Sox beat the Los Angeles Dodgers, 5-1, on Sunday, October 28, 2018 (10/28/18) to win the 2018 World Series in five games. Steve Pearce was the World Series MVP while David Price won a pair of games against the Dodgers. It was the Red Sox’s fourth World Series title in the last 15 years.

Wednesday is a holiday in Boston. I’m not talking about Halloween. I’m talking about the Red Sox victory parade.

Boston rolled out the duck boats to celebrate the Red Sox’s five-game victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2018 World Series.

While addressing the fans in attendance, Red Sox manager Alex Cora took a shot at the Yankees:

The Red Sox beat the Yankees in the American League Division Series in four games.

Cora was referencing Game 3, when Boston slammed New York, 16-1, to take control of the series.

After finishing off the Yankees, the Red Sox beat the Houston Astros in five games in the American League Championship Series.

On Sunday, Boston finished its incredible run with a 5-1 win over the Dodgers in Game 5 of the World Series.

The Red Sox won 119 games this season: a league-leading (and franchise-record) 108 in the regular season, followed by another 11 in the playoffs.

Boston’s World Series title is its fourth in the last 15 years. It was the Red Sox’s ninth championship in team history, still well behind the Yankees’ league-best 27 titles.

But New York hasn’t been to the World Series since 2009, and general manager Brian Cashman heads into the offseason knowing he has a lot of work to do to catch the Red Sox, who have won the American League East division title in each of the last three seasons.
