OAKLAND — Several key Yankees are on the mend.

Manager Aaron Boone provided updates on Aaron JudgeAroldis Chapman and Didi Gregorius before Tuesday’s 5-1 win over the A’s at Oakland-Alameda Coliseum on Tuesday.

Judge

The 26-year-old right fielder’s fractured right wrist continues to improve, Boone said. Judge, for the second day in a row, took 25 swings off the tee and 25 dry swings. He felt good, Boone said.

Judge hasn’t played since late July.

Judge also tracked pitches during Masahiro Tanaka‘s bullpen session.

“Judge came in (Tuesday) feeling good, was able to also do his baserunning with Didi, did all of his defensive work in the outfield and then was able to replicate what he did yesterday on the tee,” Boone said. “I didn’t see him hit off a tee but I heard he was really able to really pop it again today, which is an encouraging sign that he was able to do it back-to-back days. I know he stood in on Masahiro and his bullpen just to do some tracking and stuff. So, another good step forward.”

Chapman

Boone said Chapman (left knee tendinitis) threw off flat ground for the second straight day. He also walked on the treadmill.

Chapman isn’t in Oakland. It’s unclear if he’s in New York or at the team’s training complex in Tampa.

“He looked good,” said Boone, who watched video of the workout. “He was on the treadmill today _ not running but walking at a good pace without pain. So, he’ll have a couple more days like that and then after that four-day chunk of throwing on flat ground, we’ll kind of evaluate where he is and if everything is going well, then we can progress from there. All in all, I think Chappy’s doing pretty good, and it’s been an encouraging sign the last couple of days.”

Happ ‘for sure’ open to staying with Yankees

Gregorius

Gregorius (bruised left heel) took “aggressive” ground balls on Tuesday and seems on track to rejoin the team in Seattle over the weekend. Perhaps Friday, Boone said.

“He had a good day (Tuesday), ran on the field, groundballs, aggressive groundballs I would call it,” Boone said. “Batting practice. We’ll come back and if he can bounce back tomorrow, hopefully we’re in a position over the weekend to activate him.”
