Yankees Plan of Attack vs Houston At Home – ALCS

Seems that Yankees fans are panicking and throwing in The White Flag early. I ask myself, did these fans watch the same two games that I did? The Yankees gave Houston all the opportunities in the world to run away with game 1 and game 2. They did not, The Yankees set a record. (Or Maybe not) Striking out 30 times combined in those two games. Yet, they were still in these games. May I remind you? In Houston, on the road.

The plan is simple, continue to isolate Yordan Álvarez. Play into Altuve having a record slump in the post-season. Continue solid starting pitching.  Continue to have more than a decent bullpen and the most important part. Come prepared to offensively bring it, what was missing from games 1 and 2. The only reason why The Astros are up 2 – 0.

The Astros are very beatable, The Yankees can easily duplicate the same scenario they had playing The Astros in 2017’s ALCS.

Donaldson? Many fans are complaining that he should be benched. When in The history of baseball, have we seen every single player in a lineup all have hits consistently? Not going to happen and never will. Donaldson getting the blame and solely the blame for The Yankees offensive troubles is laughable. You’re always going to have a few guys that go cold. It’s baseball, someone else has to pickup the slack. I would continue to keep Donaldson in, just for his defense alone. But what about IKF at third? These are the same Yankees fans that despise IKF. But love the idea of IKF playing third, this late in the season. (ALCS) He has won a gold glove there, of course I get where they’re coming from. But yeah, let’s just plugin him in at third and completely remove a HR threat in Donaldson. Donaldson who is slumping, is still a HR threat. Just as Gallo was, complete garbage. But when inserted in The Lineup, was always a HR threat. A gamble I am willing to take, since there’s not many sluggers in this lineup. Besides, Judge, Rizzo & Stanton. I’m talking about, historically PROVEN Sluggers.

Giancarlo Stanton

The million dollar man, Giancarlo Stanton.

The reason why The Yankees made The trade for him in the first place, BEAT Houston. Stanton needs to revert back into “Playoff Stanton.” If he can, The Astros are finished.

Gerrit Cole, Nestor Cortes

These two need to continue to bring it, if they do. This series is tied and we’ve got ourselves a good one.

The Wrap

It’s not a Boone problem, its not a Bullpen Problem, its not a Starting Rotation Problem. The problem is an offensive problem, The Yankees so far have approached Houston perfectly. You fix your offensive troubles, you beat Houston. Simple as that, I am confident The Yankees will fix this. They will either take 2 or 3 games at home.

If they don’t and get eliminated, you have to restructure this lineup from the ground up in the off-season. Again, I don’t believe they have to, they have all the tools to beat Houston NOW.

Some Yankees fans need to wake up and use common sense. They have PTSD from facing Houston, it’s not as bad as it looks.
