NEW YORK — Not looking good.

The tarp was on the field for hours before the Yankees and Royals game at Yankee Stadium on Friday.

And the forecasts aren’t looking kind to the Bronx.

There’s a flood advisory until 9 p.m. and a severe thunderstorm watch until 10 p.m. for the area, according to the National Weather Service.

From NWS:

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 3am. Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. South wind 6 to 9 mph becoming west after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

We’ll have more updates.

Here are pregame notes from the Yankees:

SO…THAT HAPPENED: The Yankees on Thursday acquired 2018 AL All-Star LHP J.A. Happ from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for INF Brandon Drury and OF Billy McKinney… Happ will make his first start as a Yankee on Sunday vs. Kansas City.

>> Was 10-6 with a 4.18 ERA (114.0IP, 53ER) in 20 starts for Toronto this season… has a career-best 10.26 K/9.0IP ratio (130K/114.0IP) and is 11th in the AL in strikeouts.

>> Marks the fourth time in the last nine seasons that Happ has been traded at the July non-waiver trading deadline (2010, ’12, ’15, ’18)… in 34 post-trade games (30 starts) with his new clubs, has compiled a 15-8 record with a 3.28 ERA (175.2IP, 147H, 67R/64ER, 65BB, 176K, 12HR).

>> Since the start of 2017, is 6-7 with a 2.44 ERA (99.2IP, 27ER) in 18 starts vs. AL East opponents… has held batters to a .206 BA (77-for-373) in that span.

>> Has allowed 2ER-or-fewer in all 10 starts vs. Boston since the start of 2015, going 4-1 with a 1.78 ERA (60.2IP, 12ER)… is tied for the third-longest such streak vs. the Red Sox since earned runs became an official AL statistic in 1913.

ROTATING CAST: The Yankees are the only AL team (and one of only four Major League clubs) that have had four players make at least 50 starts in the outfield this season: Brett Gardner (81GS: LF-59, CF-22), Aaron Judge (80GS: RF-79, CF-1), Aaron Hicks (76GS in CF), Giancarlo Stanton (53GS: LF-31, RF-22)… the other three are Chicago-NL, Cincinnati and Miami.

SIR DIDI: SS Didi Gregorius hit a three-run HR in Thursday’s win, his 18th of the season… has at least 1RBI in five of his last 6G (7RBI)… has 16RBI in 21G this month after totaling just 13RBI in 47G over May and June.

>> Per MLB Statcast, has a 86.1 mph average exit velocity (on 291 batted balls), his highest in four seasons as a Yankee.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS: The Yankees at Orioles game on Sunday, 8/26, has been picked up for ESPN’s “Sunday Night Baseball” and will have an 8:05 p.m. scheduled first pitch… additionally, ESPN will have exclusive “Sunday Night Baseball” rights for the Yankees vs. Mets game originally scheduled for Sunday, 7/22, and rescheduled for Monday, 8/13… that game has a scheduled first pitch of 7:05 p.m.
