NEW YORK — It’s been a miserable Wednesday at Yankee Stadium so far for Yankees fans.

First, Yankees right-hander Sonny Gray followed a rare hot streak with more bad struggles, then an afternoon shower delayed the game after two innings with the Baltimore Orioles ahead 7-1.

The game was stopped at 2:16 p.m. when the rain picked up.

Twenty minutes later, the rain stopped and the sun came out and tarp was removed at 2:39 p.m.

The game resumed at 2:55 p.m., following a 39-minute rain delay.

The forecast for the rest of the afternoon looks good, so there’s a good chance the game won’t be stopped again once it restarts.

Gray began his day with a 1-2-3 first inning, but allowed five runs in the second and then two in the third. He was replaced with two down in the top of the third by newly acquired righty Lance Lynn, who was acquired in a trade with the Minnesota Twins on Monday night and joined the Yankees on Wednesday morning.

Gray went into the game as the Yankees’ hottest starter, as he was 3-0 with a 1.10 ERA in his previous three outings, but this seven-run, 2 2/3-inning disaster was reminiscent of many of his previous rough games this season.

After this one, his ERA is up to 5.56.

The Yankees’ lone run came on a leadoff homer in the second inning by rookie second baseman Gleyber Torres, his 16th.
