NEW YORK — It’s not looking great.

But expect them to force it.

Lots of rain is in the forecast for Sunday night’s YankeesMets game at Yankee Stadium. Thunderstorms, too. In fact, lightning stopped the Yankees from taking outdoor batting practice at about 5 p.m.

Here’s the thing: The game will be on ESPN‘s “Sunday Night Baseball.” And it’s the last Mets-Yankees game of 2018. Hard to imagine the game getting outright postponed before it starts.

Here’s what you need to know about the weather tonight, via the National Weather Service

A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73. Southeast wind 9 to 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
